so a dear friend of mine and fellow photographer melissa zihlman, introduced me to the story of the sullivan family. and it was clear to me how I was going to give back during this month of breast cancer awareness. originally i had plan of simply writing a check to Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and was all ready to whip up the post for it, however this story touched me in a place i can not even begin to describe. This story not only forced me to read every single word through tear filled eyes but to walk away with a sense of peace and hope and a smile for Chloe and Brad’s future.
I know every single person reading this blog has been affected in some way by this horrible illness, whether your neighbor walks in a race, your aunt was just diagnosed, several of your friends moms have fought the fight, your grandmother has passed, or you yourself have discovered a lump, breast cancer affects us ALL.
so in honor of ms sara’s fight, brad’s strength and this family’s faith that God has a plan…I AM PLEDGING $0.50 for every comment left on this post over the next 48 hrs to the sara sullivan fund. Yep that’s right all you have to do is stick your head out of your blog hiding place and say hi….
please leave a comment for those that have fought the battle and won, those that we still fight for and those who will fight oneday.
what an awesome idea!! God Bless You for helping and the family going through very tough times!
GO PINK!
Bless you and your kindness!

I just wanted to say the pics are beautiful.. My sister was born with cancer but nor breast cancer, she was in remission but at the age of 21 she passed away with heart failure from meds for the cancer. I know how much this can affect families and one day I pray there..is a cure. thank you for what you are doing

What a great story. Thankyo
I went to school with Sara. I truly believe she was here long enough to have and meet Chloe. I’m sure those precious few days they had together were the best days of her life! Even though Sara is no longer here, Chloe will be reminded of her mother every day thru the love and support of Sara’s amazing family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sullivan family as they look back on the life and love of Sara.
I know I’m too late for the pledge…but I wanted to say that this is awesome. I, too, have followed the Sullivan’s story and know that this will be a blessing for them and I pray that you are blessed as well.
You rock!! Thank you so much for donating to Sara’s fund…Chloe and Brad are amazing people…it was an honor to capture them!
oh, i’m too late for the pledge, but i just wanted to thank you for sharing their story. the images are awesome!!!
I feel so blessed to have been able to get to know such a beautiful and giving spirit like Melissa. Her images of sweet Chloe and Brad had tears running down my face. Although I’ve yet to meet you Shaloda (and I will soon, darn it!) I can tell why you and MZ are such good friends. Giving spirits beget giving spirits. Peace.
Love it. Thank you. A dear high school friend of mine was a good friend of Sara’s. Thank you.
