Shalonda Chaddock of Chubby Cheek Photography – CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN AND RELAX ABOUT THE REST…you know that saying “if mommy aint happy, aint nobody happy”? well in the case of family shoots this is truly the case. SO plan ahead, work with your photographer to choose the best clothing options for everyone, the best location for your family, and the best time of the day…after that your “job” is done, so relax and enjoy the moments, no matter what the moments are. It never fails this will be the one day your 2 year old will not take a long enough nap, or the baby will spit up carrots on your new dress as you get out of the car, or maybe your husband’s favorite sports team just blew it big time…sounds bad doesnt it?! well these are the things you can NOT control so rather than tensing up and making things worse than they already are… take a deep breath relax and remember, you are here to capture these moments of your family being YOUR FAMILY, not capture one of those images you see in frames at stores. if you panic and try to force everyone to pretend these things didnt just happen and smile pretty for the camera, the end result will not be true to who yall are as a family. So snuggle that cranky two year old or let them wander and explore the new location, grab that comfy cardigan you always keep in your car for cold restaurants and remind daddy-o its a good thing he doesnt make high dollar bets in vegas!
