Lake Lover or Beach Baby
You know I have lived here in Texas all of my life and if you have ever read any of my instagram “let’s get real” posts then you know that I grew up in the outskirts of Austin. We grew up in the not so small town of Round Rock. It should come as no surprise that we both grew up “lake lovers”. In fact Daddy Cheeks proposed to me on the lake. We even had our wedding on that same lake. But after moving to houston 14 years ago something happened… we fell in love with the beach! Galveston, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, south padre, you name it, we go to it all year! Our girls were born here in The Gulf Coast so they are true beach babies. We laugh about the time a client invited us to the lake for a Lake Happy Place session because my girls spent the first 30 minutes looking for the sand.
The Texas Coastline Doesn’t Get Enough Love
Since we don’t live that far from the beach we spend a lot of time with our toes in the sand. But all agree that our Texas beaches just don’t get the love that they should. Sure we don’t have clear water like the Caribbean or white sands like Florida but we do have ocean air, warm sun almost year round and the most specular sunsets!
As I start making plans to REOPEN my business after the quarantine and as luck would have it, its just in time for saltwater mini sessions! With all that has happened the beach is the perfect place to capture your family’s newfound freedom! Plus who doesn’t want a mini vacation right now!?
