First of all, I know this is a loaded question. However, if you are searching for a Houston family photographer, this is most likely the first question you ask yourself. Or it is definitely the first question your spouse will ask you! Before we get into the nitty gritty, there is good news. And it’s that any city in the country, including Houston has photographers for every budget. I think we all agree that while budget is numero uno important; it isn’t the only thing you need to consider when selecting your photographer. We will continue the series with a post on that soon.

In today’s fast-paced-cellphone-at-your-fingertips world, we all want the digital files. Even as a photographer I love the option to purchase the digital files. When I created my collections I thought about the process as a mom and as a photographer. I decided that ALL OF MY COLLECTIONS would come with the digital images and that the process needed to be simple. Forcing you to narrow your images down and selecting 25 5×7’s plus 14 8×10’s just wasn’t my jam. I knew I wanted you to get you wanted (those digis) and what you needed (physical products for your home). For this reason my simple collections come with both!
Now I know what you are thinking. “Chubby cheek photography, what if I only want the digital files?” And to you I ask. When was the last time someone visiting your house said “gosh that usb drive on your coffee table is really pretty”? When was the last time you walked by your sleeping computer monitor and sighed over how beautiful that folder of digital files looks on your desktop?
I know you want them but that’s not the part you need. You need the hand crafted album for your babies to flip through today. And for your great grandchildren to see in the future. Your teens need to see their beautiful happy faces framed and hung on your walls to remind them that they matter. Your family will need these small prints as they tell stories of what a great mom you were when you are long gone.
Family photography is more than a quick Christmas card or a social media brag. It’s truly about freezing your story now so your legacy never disappears. While it might be a splurge, find a photographer that has collections that give you what you want and what you need.
