As the trail riders start their journey toward downtown Houston to kick off the Rodeo Festivities, it felt like the perfect time to share Miss K’s Texas Rodeo Style senior photoshoot. I made my own drive from Tomball to Fort Worth for this beauty’s Senior session at the Oh-So-Texas Stockyards! We found some gorgeous cactus filled hidden gem spots that reminded me of the Vegas Desert and then took advantage of those neon lights. The location combined with that fringe denim jacket created the perfect Texas Rodeo Style session.
Today, I’m going to share my top three tips for creating a Unique senior session unlike any you have ever seen.
Top three tips for a one of a kind senior session:
1. Go all in.
As you can see Miss K owned the “Rodeo Style” Look. Everything from the rhinestone boots to the custom Queen of hearts hat. Choose to think outside of the box and go “all in” with one of your clothing choices. This will ensure that who you really are and your personality really shines through. This is the time to have fun and throw out your best editorial fashion model vibes!
2. Don’t be Afraid to be BOLD with your location.
Here is the deal, if you’re going for a certain “look” or style that really represents a part of your personality then choosing a simple field or basic building location just isn’t going to “cut it”. Cue photographer who has photographed every nook and cranny of Houston and the surrounding cities. Enter a photographer that has captured people all over this great state of Texas. A photographer that has been flown across the world (Italy was kind of a big deal) for photoshoots. Yep, that’s me, I’m that photographer. If you can dream it, I have a location to give the session the oomph it requires.
3. Music masters the mood & makes memories.
Bring a music playlist that fits the vibe you are going for. I bring music to all of my sessions. However seniors don’t always love my Disney playlist, ha. Therefore, I always recommend that my seniors bring their own playlist. However this is a judgement free zone yall because I am definitely not a throwing down my Tik tok dance moves for just anybody.
