Living in Houston afford us the chance to capture family photos year round! Let’s talk about what I love about outdoor family photo sessions. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “it’s hot” 99.99% of the year in every Texas city from The Woodlands to Waller.  Yep, you are correct! However, since we don’t get that frigid cold air and a lot of rain our landscapes stay lush and green.  This means golden sparkly light and beautiful family adventures. Plus, nothing beats a beautiful Texas sunset in my opinion. Let me be the first to tell you undershirts reduce sweat drips, curled hair will fall and no state has perfect weather. So take it from your friendly local photographer, jus take the pics outdoors!

Here are a few reasons outdoor family photosessions are going to easily become your favorite thing!

  • Life is just better with your face in the sun and your feet in the grass. Seriously, grounding is actually a thing and there have been numorous studing proving that nature has healing properties. There is something about getting outside that just revives cranky kids, overworked dads and busy moms.
  • Nobody feels fenced in, literally. I love outdoor locations for families with young kids because I don’t have to keep them contained. And let’s be real, kids no matter what age, don’t like to be confined to an invisible box! When we lose erase those barriers we are able to capture variety. Our goal isn’t to capture an entire gallery of ‘smile at the camera pics’, nope. Our goal is to tell the story of your family. My goal is to give you an hour or two to slow down and breath in these moments.
  • Adventures are around every tall Texas Pine Tree or Tomball whipsy grass. And one of my favorite way to get your family to let loose is to give you prompts that make you think about tha task at hand rather than my camera. Find 3 green leaves the size of your hand or make a rock rainbow! Fun tasks that send us on a magical adventure of fun and excitement. Plus there is just something special about a playing outdoors until the sun goes down. It reminds me of when I was a kid growing up in a small town near Austin and we played outside until the street lights came on.
  • And that brings me to my final point, making unforgettable memories. You see in the end, when you look at your album I want you to smile. I want your kids to remember how much fun they had with you! I want you to get that warm fuzzy feeling and your husband to say “it was actually fun”.best houston texas photographer
