Living in Texas means you can take your senior photos whenever you actually want but I do have a few tips and things to consider when choosing the “right time” for your senior.  Today we discuss why the senior year timeline is something you need to sort thinking about earlier than you know.

Senior Timeline & When to Schedule Your Senior Photos

1. Determine Important Deadlines

The first thing you need to know the deadlines that your school, yearbook, NCL Senior Slideshows, or Sports Program might have. Pro Tip: Yearbook deadlines are typically within the first semester. This means you will need to schedule your senior photos well before the deadlines in order to get to use them for those slideshows and senior ads.

2. Think about your shopping game plan.
>If you are wanting to wear a cute white graduation dress with your cap and gown, you will prob want to book for spring or end of summer so you can actually find white dresses in the stores.

3. Consider the temperature.
>If you are a senior guy and you plan to wear a suit, sweaters or your letter jacket with jeans,August might not be the best month to book your session. And vice versa for girls, if your vibe is short mini dresses or barefoot on the beach, selecting a January or February date is not the best choice.

4. Think about the environment.
While I love the beach in fall, you aren’t going to find an abundance of beach blooms. The winter months are not only filled with fields of brown toned grass but also earlier sunsets. Earlier sunsets means you will have to plan for hair and makeup earlier in the day. And if you book a weekday, you might have to leave school earlier to allow time to get ready.

When do you need to book your photo session?

Find your favorite photographer and BOOK THEM!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I booked my entire class of 2025 bookings in November of 2024, as in my calendar was full for spring of 2025 last year. SO I always recommend clients that are interested in senior sessions contact me before school ends their junior year. Once the summer of your senior year hits you are drowning in college aps and time hits fast forward.
