I have done senior year twice as a mom and photographer to a Class of 2025 Tomball Texas Senior and a current Class of 2026 Texas High School Senior. Seniors and moms consider this your mid year wake up to avoid the panic of May’s graduation insanity. As the second semester of senior begins time seems to speed up! You mind might be on warm weather, The Houston Rodeo and Spring Break Plans.
Top Three Most Important Things to do to Prepare for Graduation
Get Senior Photos Booked
While it’s not quite too late to take senior portraits you are definitely on the clock. I typically start booking the next year of Seniors in February – Class of 2027 I am looking at you. Most photographers don’t have time to book Class of 2026 Senior Sessions after April 1st. So you really need to schedule your senior pics immediatly if you plan to take them!!! Like hard stop for getting your pics back by graduation and grad announcements designed and mailed out if you aren’t on a photographers books immediately. Plus locations like Houston Oaks, River Oaks district and Eleanor Tinsley Park tend to get crowded during the spring months.
Start Thinking Ahead to Next Years Home
You need to start buying IMPORTANT things for your dorm and set up an Amazon wishlist for friends and family. May is going to come quick and stores know what you need to buy so prices go up and inventory goes down, the closer to summer we get. I suggest buying one expensive item, two mid priced items and three less expensive ones each month from now on until August so you don’t get hit with a huge bill before you move in to college…this spreads out that dorm spending. Make Some Big Decisions
Decide who you are mailing graduation announcements to and make a list of their addresses. You can also start planning your grad party theme and PICK YOUR DATE so you can book the venue and the vendors. If you are not into the party vibe start planning your graduation trip adventure now.
