Oh how i need you Lord
You are my only hope
You are my only prayer
so i will wait for You
to come and rescue me
to come and give me life….
I dont normally share my faith or religion on here, ya know its kind of one of those things like politics you aren’t “supposed” to talk about…see i really dislike uncomfortable situations and bringing things like that up can def cause one of those, plus i am a “to each his own” kind of girl if you ask i will talk but if not i will listen, either way i don’t and you shouldnt judge. plus this is one of my most favoritest song ever, so booyah ; )
Having said that, today is an exception as you can see…okay okay backstory….about a month ago i was contacted by christie lacy another local and pretty fab photographer to help a sista out. She was friends with The Marsh Family, if you havent read the story of Layla Grace then go read it , it WILL move you. anyhoo, christie contacted me and asked me and about 10 or so “of the best boutique child photographers” in our area (that makes me blush btw christie) to all donate our time, talent, cameras, and our spirit to a party for layla, aka a day of mini sessions, in an effort to raise funds for the family. Without hesistation i rescheduled the shoots i already had that day and said yes!
The exclamation behind the yes came for several reasons, some personal things that happened to us recently, i never shared with yall (no worries everything is fine now), the fact that i had been following the marsh’s story for quite sometime anyways, the fact that i myself am a mom, have two daughters of my own and the fact that i had already seen the far reach of layla’s story and strength…i could go on and on…
so without further adieu, meet some of the good hearts who joined me today…
You are amazing. What a wonderful thing you did for the Marsh family. Miss you friend…hope you are doing well! XOXO
As Erin said, you ARE amazing. And you are truly one of the best photogs I know in this area. Thank you so very much for sharing so much of yourself for this project. I know that each of these families is blessed to have had you photograph them and that they came away with updated photos for their families and children. Thank you so much, Shalonda! We MUST meet! 😉
Totally amazing, Shay…what a wonderful thing you did! But I really relate to the sharing your faith part of the message…why must we be so PC all the time in order not to offend? I’m definitely guilty…good for you for not conforming! ‘I lift my eyes up, up to the mountains…where does my help come from?’
I have tears in my eyes…how sweet for you to drop everything and help out. You are amazing…{{HUGS}}! Beautiful images 🙂
