THE CREATIVE FEE
the creative fee includes:
- A phone consult where we carefully plan every detail of your session together including location, hair + makeup, etc.
- Custom styling session for your family. I will send you style boards that match every budget or we can communicate via text and shop your own closet.
- 40min – 1.5 hour photo session. I can capture your moments as fast or as slow as your family decides. We stop when you’re done having fun or when the sun is gone. (spoiler: the sun usually sets first)
- Online gallery with a minimum of 40 hand-edited unique images. I carefully select and hand-edit each image so they are perfect for printing for your walls or sharing with family and friends.
COLLECTION SELECTION
collections start at 1695 & include all digital art in your gallery…plus Heirloom products.
I offer two collections and we will discuss the details of both collections over the phone to determine the best one for your family.

We will enter the world of your child’s wildest imagination and explore their very own dreams! Together, you and I will create a custom concept that is unique to your child’s interests. These session are best for ages 3+ and are a MUST DO before your child begins kindergarten.

The most amazing family photographer!
Our family loves Shalonda and the magic she creates. She is the most amazing family photographer. Her ability to bring out our children’s different personalities and capture them in just the right moment is amazing. Her magic works for all ages – we have gone from babies to teens with her and she always manages to take the perfect pictures to capture our families at that moment in time. She is so creative from her location choices to fun styled sessions to the details at every shoot. We love our annual shoot with Shalonda and my kids have promised that as long as Shalonda is taking our pictures they will they be there no matter how old they get!!

FAQs
My toddler is quite “spirited” and a bit rambunctious is this okay?
First of all, the kids rule the session! I spend the first few minutes interacting with your child without my camera in their face to not only gain their trust but understand what games will suit their personality best. Do not stress, or worry just follow my lead and love your child as you would if I weren’t there capturing the moments. Second, please know that after having one straight up maniac child and after almost two decades of photographing little ones myself, I can tell you I have never had a session where a child was perfectly perfect the entire 1.5 hr (including my own family sessions… Remind me to tell you the story of when my child fell right into the ocean before we even took one single shot!)
I am not afraid of overly excited toddler or over emotional teenagers! So don’t stress, and trust me + my experience, I promise I can capture your family’s moments and deliver a beautiful gallery faster than you would believe!
What's the best time of the day to shoot?
My outdoor sessions all take place shoot 1.5 hour before the sun sets and we shoot until the sun is gone or until your toddler/teen/spouse is don’t with me. Spoiler: 99.9% of the time the sun is gone first! This golden glittery light creates the most beautiful backdrop plus say hellllooooo to those pastel Texas skies. While I realize this timing certain times of the year this may not be optimal for littles, Houston and Galveston provide such diverse location options that provide some flexibility to this and allow us to use open shades areas. I also offer sunrise session if that is a better choice for your family’s schedule or to consider a Happy Place session in your home if you prefer to shoot during the day or mid morning.
What do we wear?
This is not only the most asked question but also my favorite! I no longer have an extensive client closet because in the past my clients expressed that they believe that their family was unique and they didn’t want their images to look like everyone else’s I do have a few staple pieces of clothing that can be borrowed and then we will mix your own pieces in. However I am your biggest hype girl, shopping partner and honest best friend all in one! I send you a questionnaire and within 48 hours of you sending it back I personally sit down and style your family from the bow on your heads to the shoes on your feet…the best part is it’s all virtual and I even send you the links to but the clothes if you want!!!! So, don’t worry I am here to ensure that your family is styled to perfection on any budget and so your images truly represent who yall are and what yall are comfortable wearing not the same clothes 20 other families have worn.

Can we buy more than 40 images for our gallery?
After photographing families in Houston for 14 years I have perfected my craft to be able to confidently say that 40 images is more than enough. I promise your gallery will include a variety of breathtaking detail shots and precious candid moments. I shoot to fill a timeless album that your great grandchildren will one day turn the pages of and 40 images is more than enough. Plus seeing more is overwhelming and nobody really wants to see the outtakes. Realistically if we are shooting to create a wall gallery for your home, you will not need more than a handful of final images to fill those walls. Narrowing the images down is certainly the most difficult task for me and I take it very seriously so trust that I select the most perfect images to hand edit and create a diverse and breathtaking gallery.

When will I receive my photos?
Normal turnaround time for a proof gallery is 14 business days. If you need to have your images back by a certain date (ie: birthday party or senior year book) I suggest booking your session 4 weeks prior to the deadline. I am working on multiple sessions at once and do my best to deliver each gallery as quickly as possible.
How much are your photography collections?
After so many years of serving families from The Woodlands to The Heights I have created a simple and transparent pricing structure. That means there are no hidden fees or purchase requirements. I hate deciding where I want to go for a date night dinner so I’m not asking you to make any stressful decisions. I have two collections and they both include all of the digital art that you see in your gallery as well as professionally printed Heirloom quality product.

Do you offer a payment plan option?
Absolutely! I know monthly budgets can sometimes be tight so I offer several payment plan options, or we can create one to suit your needs.
