Post Paralysis

Welp, post paralysis is back in full force people!  We are on week 5 of the Covid 19 quarantine life and I am stuck!  I have a ton to post from my little home office in Tomball but nothing seems significant considering our current “WTH” situation. When this first started I was in a very positive mindset! I am “that drama queen mama” who cries in the closet on my kids birthdays because of how fast they are growing up. So I welcome’ed the slower pace and that I didn’t have to pack rainbow lunches for a while (Praise Jesus)! But as the week have worn on me it’s become a constant rollercoaster.

I’m reading more posts of people falling further into a spiral and heck slip there myself. One minute, I’m like “winner winner chicken dinner we can do the” and the next I’m lost in the same small business owner thoughts that most of you are all in.  I try to keep this space a pretty positive but y’all I’ll be honest this is hard. I’ve cried in front of my kids, I love Jesus but I’ve said a cuss word or 30, and I have woken up in the middle of the night in a panic.

We are in this together

I do better when I am trying to encourage others. I can breathe when I’m trying to fill someone else’s cup. So call me selfish but I NEED TO HOLD YOUR HAND!  We have actually been homebound now for 12 days and y’all my extroverted-talk-to-anyone-at-the-grocery-store-self needs a real legit conversation about stuff!  For my own photography community I have been doing coffee and chit chat zoom calls or teaching free lessons on forums. But for YOU “my peeps” of the suburbs of Houston I want to remind you that you don’t have to do it perfect! This is a collective deep breath for us as a community and for each of our families! A stressful but much needed forced slow down.

They will remember this forever

So step away for a minute. step away from the news, the stress of online school, the wiping and bleaching and washing of all of the things and have a little fun together! CREATE SOME MEMORIES. This time is unprecedented for not only us but for our children! This shut down, this quarantine will be taught about in textbooks to our future generations but our kids will remember the moments. Make memories, create art, use your imagination!

Photography Scavenger Hunt Family Fun

Or grab it from my IG account HERE . All you have to do is print it out and give each hunter a phone, iPad or camera of some sort then head off to have fun! There are two Family Scavenger Hunts one for indoor and one for outdoor activities.

show your appreciation with rainbows and hearts

When we get to the other side

Once we make it through this, things will likely always be a little different but different doesn’t have to be bad. I think we will all appreciate what we have a little more. Be present in these slower moments with our family and be more thankful for those that we miss. This will be the year to capture your family’s kaleidoscope of love like never before! This will be the year we never forget. Be sure to message me now to schedule your beach family photography session or maybe even a lifestyle happy place session once this passes and we can celebrate all of the worlds love again!
