Three reasons to book a Galveston beach session today
It’s no secret that Texas beaches are my happy place. It’s also no secret that I think they might end up being yours too. Especially after I show you just how beautiful Galveston, Crystal Beach, and Port Aransas really are! are! As I get ready to launch my 14th year of annual SALTWATER SESSIONS I wanted to share my top three reasons why I think everyone needs at least one family beach session.
Fun in the big old Texas sun…and pastel skies
My approach to family photography is different than any other session you have ever had! After 13 years of photographing families in the suburbs of Houston, I developed a series of games that result in the giggles that you see all over these pages. But you combine those games to the sand and saltwater and yall…you get a whole ‘other level of family fun! The beautiful dunes provide a stunning backdrop for snuggling and those tender moments. While the shallow shoreline is the perfect spot for splashing, wave jumping and big old belly laughs! A mini getaway
If there is anything that 2020 gave us it was the gift of the “slow down”. We learned that we can get through anything together and we learned just how much time we can handle together, ha! I think we could all use a mini getaway and honestly, Galveston is only a hop, skip and a jump away from Houston. Also, I am happy to give you suggestions of places my family loves to stay since we spend a lot of time along the Texas coast. So use this time to kick back with your toes in the sand and still have everyone home for school on Monday. Not to mention Pleasure Pier is a sweet little spot for an afternoon of fun but just small enough to be less overwhelming that normal theme parks.
Mix it up
There is no doubt that, Texas has amazing locations for family photo sessions. In fact, I’m sure you have plenty of images in golden grassy fields or downtown settings…but THE BEACH is beautiful! I know what you are thinking…”Um well it’s not the Caribbean”. And while you are right, I have to brag on our beaches for a moment because most people don’t give our Texas Beaches the love they deserve. We have fluffy sand, pastel skies and gorgeous dune, you just have to know WHERE to find it! Look no further, yall, I can be your guide!
