For 14 years Shalonda has served the Greater Houston area as an on location family photographer. Chubby Cheek Photography has chased toddlers through wildflower fields in Magnolia and danced on rooftops with families in downtown Houston, Texas. Shalonda prides herself in her ability to find unique locations nestled in every town from The Woodlands to Sugar Land! She knows light and can tell you where to find the most glittery spots for your golden hour session.
Picking a location
Choosing a location for your family photography session is not up to you to do on your own, Shalonda will help guide you along the way. I offer a variety of locations that provide a golden glow and give your children space to be free and safe. A few questions to ask yourself before settling on a location are:
- Do we want a location that has meaning to us personally? If the answer is yes, then you will be best suited for a Happy Place Session.
- Do we prefer golden soft evening light or bright morning sunshine?
- Do we prefer more secluded and private or are we comfortable with others being around? Public locations can be busy during the weekend so choosing a weekday session will allow us to use a public location with fewer people around.
- Do we like clean architecture, urban settings or grassy open spaces?

Regardless of what location you choose, know that Shalonda understand light! More importantly, she knows how to get your family to relax and have fun! I have photographed this family since their oldest daughter was a one year old squishy toddler! And 8 years later, we still have plenty of spaces to explore in Houston as we continue to capture their love.
