Let’s Discuss what a family photo session in February in Houston Texas looks and feels like…
Is February a Good Month for Family Photos in Houston?
If you have lived in Houston for any amount of time you know that February is one of those weird weather months. Sometimes Houston gets crazy cold snaps and others we get warm and maybe wet days. However, let’s deep dive and pro/con a February Family Photoshoot.
- February is generally slower in terms of people wanting a photoshoot. The advantage of this is that your photographer (hopefully this one) will have more weekend availability. There is also a chance that your photoshoot images will be edited sooner than expected because it’s not crazy busy fall season.
- While February temperatures can range in the mid 60’s to low 70’s some family’s prefer that over sweating buckets like in the summertime.
- In February we will have some of my very favorite Houston locations all to ourselves. Again the busy-ness of fall family photos and Christmas Card Sessions has died down. So some of the best North Houston locations are empty.
- Fall colors and spring blooms converge in February. This means, there is always some sort of color happening in February. So, whether it be the last remnants of Texas Falls colors or the beginning of the Spring green bloom.
- It’s time to try something new. If your family has had family sessions every fall or Spring, why not try something new!? Every location looks different in each Texas season! And guess what?! You won’t have to battle the spring allergy sniffles or wearing sweaters in 100 degree Houston heat.
